Sat, 5/3 Cont... Driving through Utah, we come upon the picturesque ruins and rock formations at Monument Valley. (John Wayne was here!)
We stop along the side of the road outside of Navajo Tribal Park and out come the chairs and grill for a perfect lunch setting. Thanks guys for the tasty grilled talapia fish and chicken with onion sandwiches. Thanks? for your joke of the day: "What do you say if an Indian comes up and asks for some food?. ..Do you have a reservation?" Ha, Ha Tim and Luis.
Next monument stop is Four Corners, the only place in the US where four states meet--Arizona, Utah, Colorado and New Mexico. The heritage region has prehistoric archaeological Indian Villages, national historic districts, landmarks and parks.
"WE INTERRUPT THIS BLOG," due to the illness of the post editor. Utilizing a plastic bag in the front seat, we zipped through the valleys and hills of Durango, Colorado, and to our destination, Pagosa Springs.
